Accessibility
A site for every pet parent.
Every family should be able to learn about Pawz, book a visit and reach us easily, however they use the web. Here's what we've done, where we're still working, and how to tell us when something gets in your way.

Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the widely used standard for making websites work for people with disabilities. We test as we build, and we'll keep improving as the site grows.
What we've done
- Keyboard friendly: menus, buttons, forms, the before and after slider, the coat finder and pop-ups all work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline. A "Skip to content" link starts every page.
- Less motion on request: if your device is set to reduce motion, we turn off smooth scrolling, animations, the scrolling reviews and autoplaying scenes.
- Readable text and color: large type, strong contrast between text and backgrounds, and no information shown by color alone.
- Descriptive images: photos have text descriptions, and purely decorative art is hidden from screen readers.
- Clear structure: headings, lists and landmarks so screen readers can jump around each page.
- Labeled forms: every field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and errors are announced in plain language.
- Zoom and small screens: pages reflow for phones and tablets and hold up when you zoom in.
- Key info everywhere: our phone number, hours and address are in the footer of every page.
Known limitations
- A Day at Pawz tour: this page tells our story with scroll-driven animation. Everything it covers is also on our Daycare, Boarding and Grooming pages in plain text, and reduced-motion settings simplify it.
- Online booking: reservations run on MoeGo, a separate service we don't control. If it gives you any trouble, call us and we'll book for you.
- Live cameras: the camera viewer is a separate system with its own controls. Video feeds don't have audio or descriptions.
- Maps and social media: Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook links lead to sites with their own accessibility features.
- Illustrated scenes: the animated scenes are decorative, so their details are summarized in the text around them.
